Papercraft Objects: Final Revision

Image
Here are some pictures of my Final Revision Prototype&Final For my papercraft prototype, I made a little coca-cola bottle. In the process, I found it is hard to make a model with tiny parts, So I decided to print it on tabloid size paper. However, I don't know why but bookstore doesn't have the paper.  What I thought is, upscale every part to 150%, and separate each of them on letter size paper. So I printed them separately on 4 sheets of paper. On in- progress critique, I got much good advice. All of them was really helpful, but I was a little rush for this project So I just made it bigger.

For my papercraft prototype, I decided to make a coca-cola bottle. I thought it might be not really hard, but the process was not that easy like what I expected.  I wanted to create coke bottle's curve on its surface, but It needed many parts to do it, So After I printed my design, all the parts were so tiny because I put every part on a sheet of paper. It makes me so hard to handle all of it, But I made it anyway. Here is my completed prototype. On rhyno

Papercraft Research

Paper is a most fundamental and valuable medium. With the way artists explore it, a single piece of paper can transform into fantastic art and contain numerous stories inside. The Artists that I am inspired by are Hari & Deepti.  Deepti Nair and Harikrishnan Panicker are an artist couple who create papercrafts. Their works do not only consist of paper. The artists put a light in the paper and create their world. I chose their art because I was attracted by their creativity and the depth of lights. Each of their works seems to illustrate an important scene from a certain story.   They cut watercolor papers and combine them into many layers in a shadow box. When they turn on the lights in the box, colorless paper suddenly changes into colorful and brilliant worlds, and there is even a splendid three-dimensional effect. sources: http://www.thisiscolossal.com/2015/09/hari-and-deepti/ http://www.thisiscolossal.com/2014/03/illumina

Remix culture

After group discussion with my classmates, I decided to use my snail and balloons for my final Mash mixer project piece.  I got many positive and useful feedbacks from my group, and It was a meaningful time to develop my work. It is the first version of my project. At this time, I used snail modeling which has only one part, and height of ballons was all the same. This is a final piece After the critique, and you can see some elements are modified.  For this, I found another snail modeling, which has two parts.  Shell of the snail is slightly floating by balloons, and the height of balloons are all different. However, I think I need to do more practice with this tool.  I tried to make glowing those balloons and body of the snail, but layer colors did not work at all. I believe my works are communicated with remix culture by parody.   This work is inspired by Pixar movie 'UP.' In the animation, the main character made a flying house with

Responce to Objectified

In the film, all objects were interesting. However, among them, the white chairs from very first of the movie-named Air-Chair-gave me the strongest impression.  The chairs looked comfortable, and its design was simple and modern.  Also, I like the line of the chair, which is smooth and beautiful curve. So I tried to design a chair looks like the one from the documentary.   I added arms and put tiny holes for preventing sweat, even a person sits a long time on the chair.
